On Saturday, we told you that there was speculation that Sprint would launch the Samsung GALAXY Nexus on April 15th. Today, the Sprint speculation continues. A source for S4GRU passed along the word that the HTC One X will be launched via the nation's third largest carrier on June 10th. The source says that internally, the device is codenamed the HTC Jet. (You might remember that the Samsung Jet was a featurephone that was supposed to be smarter than a smartphone).
The source for the site didn't actually call the HTC Jet the HTC One X, but apparently all of the specs line up. For example the HTC One X is the only announced model from the Taiwan based manufacturer to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor, with NFC capabilities. This is the same exact processor found in the Jet along with the support for NFC.

The HTC Jet will have that dual-core 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor under the hood along with 1GB of RAM. The 4.7 inch screen weighs in at 720p and is made of Gorilla Glass 2. This will be the third LTE enabled model for Sprint following the Samsung GALAXY Nexus and the LG Viper, and that explains why the quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 is a no-show here. As you might know by now, NVIDIA never taught the Tegra 3 how to play nicely with LTE technology. That is why the AT&T variant of the device, the HTC One XL, also will not feature a quad-core processor.

So dear Sprint customers, do you burn an upgrade next month with the Samsung GALAXY Nexus or do you hold of for June when Sprint's version of the HTC One X is launched as whatever name they decide to use. Considering that June 10th is the two year anniversary of the launch of the carrier's first 4G WiMAX device, the HTC EVO 4G, how does the HTC EVO X 4G sound?
